Dressage Rider Achievement Awards Updated 2025
Dressage NZ and the Development Committee is excited to announce a further motivational aspect to the Rider Achievement Awards programme. New for 2025 is the Gold Badge Recognition Programme Dressage NZ Gold Badge Recognition
The Dressage NZ Achievement Awards support and celebrate the personal development, goals, and individual dressage journey of riders. Rather than just placings, the Awards emphasize consistent performance and learning.
There are four levels of awards, Foundation(Bronze), Development (Silver), Performance(Gold) and Elite (Platinum).
A lapel badge that signifies the level of the award and a digital certificate are awarded on completion each level.
Riders achieving a Gold Badge may apply to the DNZ Development Committee for guidance in creating a training plan to support further progress.
This does not imply future progression to ESNZ High Performance Dressage Squads, but may assist development to achieve selection, dependent on the HP selection criteria for each squad. For more info go to High Performance Selection
Achievement Awards Format & Structure
The awards consist of two components
- Performance Recognition – based on competition percentages, not placings.
- Knowledge Assessment – a set of questions examining understanding of the Scale of Training and test components at the rider’s level.
These two parts may be completed in any order, and there is no time limit on completion.
