What type of ESNZ membership do I need for dressage?
Non-Graded Competitions: An ESNZ Introductory or ESNZ Day membership is required for Non-graded dressage competitions. All Introductory (Level 0) classes are non-graded but at some events, organisers may offer higher level non-graded classes. No results are recorded on HorseREG
Graded Competitions: You will need a Junior or Full ESNZ Membership if you want to compete in graded dressage classes from Preliminary to Grand Prix
What registration does my horse need?
Non-Graded Competitions: ESNZ horse/pony registration is optional
Graded Competitions: Your horse/ pony will need a Full ESNZ Registration and you can then opt for an annual start which enables this horse or pony to compete in an unlimited tests number of tests for the year or pay as you go utilizing flexi-starts Results are recorded and this is a great option for horses and ponies who complete in more than one discipline, or infrequently during the year. In Introductory/Non-Graded classes you can wear your pony club uniform or a short jacket. You can wear long boots or boots and gaiters – suede chapettes may only be worn in this level of competition. Your breeches/jodphurs can be only white, off-white, light canary, banana, light grey or beige. Gloves are optional.
In Graded Levels 1 – 5 (Preliminary – Advanced Medium) you’re required to wear a short jacket. You must also wear a stock or tie/choker collar or shirt with integrated choker collar. For footwear you must wear long boots or jodhpur boots with or without leather gaiters> Your gaiters must match the colour of your boots. Your breeches should be white, off-white, light canary, banana, light grey or beige. Gloves are compulsory.
In Graded Levels 6 – 9 you’re required to wear a Black or dark jacket/coat or a black or dark tailcoat. You’re required to also wear a stock or tie. You must wear long boots in black or in the same colour as your jacket. Your breeches should be white, off-white, light canary, banana, light grey or beige. Gloves are compulsory.
