It was a picture perfect weekend for the first Show Hunter Series Show of the 2023-2024 season held at Richmond Park, Nelson over the weekend.  Nelson Show Hunter made the move to the new location this year to utilise the fantastic covered yarding and horse management facilities available.  Two days of Show Hunter series were held with some good results coming through for both the horses and ponies.

In the Pony ring the Vero Insurance Category A High Points was dominated by previous Star Spotter Scholarship recipient, Holly Clark aboard Tarahua Shiloh.  Ella Norman and Flash of Gold also had a blinder winning both the Fiber Fresh Category B High Points classes.   The Aniwell Category C High Points was taken out both days by Amy Wassell and HillBilly.

Holly Clark also did well in the BOP & Waikato SH Groups 12 & Under Equitation series, winning both classes and in the Big On Writing Pony Equitation series, Mitchell Cowan (pictured) won on day one and Amy Wassel took out day two.

The Carousel Equestrian Amateur and EquiMatch Junior High Points classes were also combined and Georgia Allison and Sandow Jacob had a fantastic win on Saturday, but had to settle for second place on Sunday behind Jane Fowler and Reid and Dale Top Secret.

The NRM Open High Points went the way of Annie Baird and Roselea Alfie on Saturday and then Melissa Harte-Seidl and Polaxpress MC (pictured) took the win on Sunday.
