Tom Tarver and Fiber Fresh Popeye started the weekend off with a bang for New Zealand’s international showjumpers competing offshore, winning the CSI4* classic tour opening speed class at Hamburg, Germany.

Tom and Popeye headed home 36 other combinations to take the win in a speedy 62.28 seconds. Later in the show they placed fifth in the CSI4* 1.5m classic finishing with four faults in the jump-off in 46.01 seconds. The 31-strong class was won by Gilbert Tillman (GER) and Cel’Amour with a double clear in 45.97 seconds.

In Munich, Phillip Stiner and Cassina Dior had a solid weekend, placing 14th in the CSI3* 1.55m after picking up four faults in the jump-off, 15th in the 1.4m CSI3*, and 16th in the CSI3* 1.55m.

Daniel Meech and Donjon D’Asschaut also started in the CSI3* 1.55m, picking up four faults in the opening round to finish in 20th place. He and Ortolaan van het Ruytinxbos were sixth in the CSI4* 1.45m, with Richard Gardner and Ippolito winning the CSI1*YH class.
