World no.2 Tim Price and Wesko are off to a cracking start at Le Grand Complet in France, leading the field in the CCIO4*-NC-S.
Tim and his 17-year-old campaigner sit on 23.3 penalty points, with Michael Jung (GER) and Fischerrocana FST in second on 26.3 and Thibaut Vallette (FRA) on Qing du Briot IFCE in third on 26.6.
“I am very pleased,” says Tim. “He is such a pro. I am looking forward to lying some of the WEG 2014 demons to rest this weekend with him.”
Jonelle Price and Grovine de Reve scored 32 penalty points to sit in 21st spot in the 93-strong class with Bruce Haskell and Amiro Sky on 36.5.
The New Zealand team are fourth in the eight strong Nations’ Cup field with a combined score of 91.8 penalty points. France leads on 84.2 with The Netherlands second on 90.2 and Great Britain third on 91.
All of the Nations’ Cup team members have completed their dressage with many individuals in the 4* class still to come including Jonelle aboard Grappa (0946hrs Friday FR time), Tim on Spartaco (1147hrs) and Jonelle with McClaren will round out the field (1251hrs).
In the CCI3*-S, Jonelle and Curly Girl are in sixth spot on 30.1 penalty points. Stephane Landois (FRA) and Chaman Dumontceau lead the field with half still to complete their dressage.
