The New Zealand Agricultural Show held at the Canterbury Park Show Grounds took place from Wednesday the 13th to Friday the 15th of November, during the NZ Cup and Show Week.
The two premier Show Jumping classes of the show took place in the main show arena in front of a large crowd on Friday morning. Heavy rain overnight Thursday turned the near-perfect ground conditions to mud however competition was still strong.
Twelve year old SCNO rider Emma Gillies took out the Country TV Pony Grand Prix with Benrose Playtime, making a very successful debut at Pony Grand Prix level.
The combination also placed first equal in the Ballantynes Pony Six Bar with her older sister Sam on Junior Disco and Sophie Geddes on Te Ngaio Raggamuffin. All three riders cleared an impressive 155cm.

But we took our time stepping up as I wanted to make sure we were both ready.” Grace explains. “He was super for me and felt so good out there despite the tough ground conditions! I’m so proud of him and still in complete shock! It was a great show and we always enjoy coming up to Christchurch Show”.
