Fourteen year old Zoe Lawn and Pied Piper Trick or Treat have won the Hyland Trophy for the 2024 Pony Championship in their first season competing at this level.
The pair were super consistent in the nine strong field of FEI level ponies with a 2nd place in the Team Test (66.29%), 1st in the Individual Test (68.65%) and 3rd in the Freestyle (67.35%)
Pied Piper Trick or Treat (Salem) is an 8 year old Palomino Gelding 142cm by Golden Strike/Pennylane Lulu , bred by Karyn McLachlan. He earned his name as he was born on Halloween.
Zoe Lawn attends Sacred Heart Girls College in New Plymouth.
Zoe also is a successful show rider, has recently qualified herself and both her ponies to compete at the Australian Show Horse Council Show in Sydney 2024. Zoe and Braeburn Park Pure Soprano were champion show pony at Manawatu (also Supreme Pony) Egmont, Waverley Show along with Champion Large Show Pony at Show Horse Council. Pure Soprano also competes in dressage winning Champion Preliminary pony at Northern HB and Taranaki Regional Shows.
