ESNZ Jumping is delighted to announce that Equestrian Australia has accepted an invitation to send a Young Rider Team to compete in a Trans-Tasman Young Rider Test at the Larsens Showjumping Championships in Gisborne 26th – 28th January 2024.
The Trans-Tasman Young Rider Challenge is an annual event that has traditionally been a gripping battle between the nations, it was last contested in Sydney in August 2023 where Australia claimed victory.
Australia will send a team of 4 riders to compete in the test, which will be on borrowed horses.
ESNZ are seeking expressions of interest from riders who would like to be part of this teams event.
The ESNZ Jumping selectors will select the team of 4 riders and 1 reserve and it is expected that the reserve rider attends the show. Selected team members and the reserve will be responsible for their own costs to attend the show which includes travel and accommodation, ESNZ Jumping will provide team uniform and Chef d’Equipe.

Where: Larsens Showjumping Championships in Gisborne, 26th – 28th January 2024.
Team size: A team of 4 riders and 1 reserve rider plus a Chef d’Equipe
Rules: The competition will be run according to the rules in the ESNZ Jumping rule book article 279.
Class Height: 1.20m

- Check that you meet the eligibility criteria contained in the selection criteria document.
- Submit your expression of interest in email format, outlining how you believe you meet Sections 4 and 6 of the Selection Criteria. Please also include your date of birth so we can cross check our records.
