ESNZ Eventing is seeking expressions of interest from combinations wishing to be considered for the New Zealand Senior and Young Rider Oceania teams. The 2024 Senior and Young Rider Oceania Teams Championship will be run as part of the Land Rover Horse of the Year Show 8-10 March 2024.
The Oceania competition will comprise one Senior team and one Young Rider team representing New Zealand and one Senior team and one Young Rider team representing Australia. The Teams event will be run concurrently with the Land Rover Horse of the Year Show Eventing on separate consecutive days in the CCI3*-S format for Young Riders and CCI4*-S format for Seniors.
The teams will comprise four (4) horse and rider combinations, with the best three (3) scores counting for the final team classification. The combinations will also compete as individuals.
Riders are asked to read to the Performance Criteria before making an application.
The Eventing Selectors will be taking into account a wide range of factors, including the competition performance record of the rider and the horse as a combination from 1 November 2021 with particular emphasis being placed on recent performances at FEI events.

- 6th November applications close
- Long list selected after Puhinui in December
- 5th and 6th February XC camp, Taupo NEC
- Long list may be revised to a short list after the XC camp.
- 26th February Teams selected (following Springbush)
- 1st – 2nd March Teams Preparation Camp, Taupō NEC (will include a final vet inspection)
New Zealand Team members will be supported with coaching, team management and horse health as well as team uniforms and entry fees.
