New Zealand eventers will be rolling out team protocols this week at the Concours Complet International D’Arville in Belgium.

ESNZ general manager of high performance Jock Paget sees the popular event as a great opportunity to function as a team as part of New Zealand’s Paris campaign. “We have a big group of Kiwi riders going and a decent number of them targeting Paris,” he says.

Rudigar Schwarz has been tasked with designing the cross country and is known for his challenging courses. “This is one of our targeted events and has attracted additional riders to those who competed in the team at Millstreet and Aachen.”

Lining up in the CCIO4*-S Nations Cup for New Zealand will be Muzi Pottinger aboard Good Timing, Samantha Lissington and Lord Seekonig, Dan Jocelyn with Blackthorn Cruise, and Lauren Innes aboard Global Fision M.

It’s a big field with 112 combinations from 18 countries vying for top honours.

Also competing in the 4*-S class are James Avery on MBF Connection, Ginny Thomasen with Gladstone and Caroline Powell on CBI Aldo. Megan Heath on Adagio for Strings, Bruce Haskell on Bentley, and James with One of a Kind are on the CCI3*-S card, while Caroline on Oakley Olive, Bruce on Champagner, and Dan with Greannanstown Atomic.

The dressage tests get underway on Thursday (BEL time) and run through Friday as well with the 4* showjumping on Saturday and the cross country on Sunday.
