Congratulations to Sharon Landreth, ESNZ’s September 2021 Volunteer of the Month!
The lovely, anonymous nomination for Sharon describes her as “very hard working” and someone deserving of recognition for all she does and has done for Show Jumping in the Otago Area for the past 25 plus years!
Sharon is a level 3 Show Jumping judge and steward and has been involved in Otago show jumping as a committee member for more than 25 years.
She is the judges’ coordinator for Otago Area show jumping and helps anyone who needs it at the warm up fence. She stewards and still has time to talk through any issues, answer any questions and help in any way she can. She is described as one of the “most approachable and knowledgeable” people at the show, without a doubt!
She is passionate about show jumping, the rules and especially horse and rider welfare and safety. She does a lot of work behind the scenes with judges and riders and has been a sounding board for the Otago committee for 25 years due to her knowledge and ability to be tactful and relate to all riders, parents and officials.
Sharon, you, along with all our volunteers, are what makes our sport thrive and for that we are truly grateful. Thank you!
ESNZ Volunteer of the Month receives a gift in recognition of their contribution; Sharon’s is on its way to her.
