Talent and depth is how ESNZ high performance general manager Jock Paget is describing the just announced Talent Development and Talent Identification squads.

“We had a great selection camp at the Taupo NEC in early May and an excellent pool to choose from,” said Jock.

There were 17 applications for the TID squad who all were under the watchful eye of performance selectors Nick Pyke, Mitty Forsyth and Vicki Glynn throughout the autumn season, the final decisions made after the New Zealand Three Day Event last month.

There are just two new additions to the TID, with Jasmyne Speak (Cambridge) and Charlotte Penny (Taupo) joining Alena Dorotich (Drury), Brittany Fowler (Matangi), Kelli Frewin (Hawke’s Bay) and Rosa Miller (Te Kauwhata).

The Talent Development Squad, which looks to develop the capability and skills of young eventing riders to enable them to produce horses at 4* and above, remains the same.

The squads are –

Talent Development:

Abigail Long (Levin), Beth Wilson (Hunua), Vicky Browne-Cole (Waiuku) and Lucy Turner (Lincoln).

Talent Identification Squad:

Alena Dorotich (Drury), Brittany Fowler (Matangi), Kelli Frewin (Hawke’s Bay), Rosa Miller (Te Kauwhata), Jasmyne Speak (Cambridge) and Charlotte Penny (Taupo).
