New Zealand’s power couple of eventing head to Belgium this weekend for the third leg of the cash-rich Event Rider Masters series in Belgium.

World no.1 Tim Price, hot off the back of his victory in the CCI5*-L at Luhmuhlen heads to Concours Complet d’Arville aboard his 16-year-old bay gelding Wesko who has been first, second and third at CCI5*-L events at Luhmuhlen, Kentucky and Pau respectively. He’s had three previous ERM starts with a second his best at Jardy last year.

Jonelle Price has entered her Rio Olympic Games horse Faerie Dianimo, the 14-year-old grey mare she won Luhmuhlen CCI5*-L last year. Both Tim and Jonelle are chasing their first ERM victories.

It’s a sharp field lining up in the CCI4*-S field at Arville and includes two ERM series champs, six leg winners, four 5* winners and last year’s leg winner Chris Burton (AUS). In all, 22 riders representing seven different nations will be chasing the honours.

Lucy Jackson is the best Kiwi in the series’ rankings after two legs, sitting in fifth equal on 26 points. Laura Collett (GBR) leads on 30 points with Jonelle in 17th on 18 points.

The CCI4*-S ERM runs Saturday and Sunday. Each leg of the ERM features a prize pot of £50,000/€57,000, with the winner receiving £16,000/€18,000, the runner-up £12,000/€13,500, and the third-placed rider £8,000/€9,500. Points are accrued towards an end-of-series podium with a final prize pot of £50,000, with £30,000 going to the series winner.

Jonelle will also compete in the CCI2* aboard her nine-year-old Faerie Magnifico in his first international eventing start.
