It was the outstanding team work from all sectors at the Christchurch NEC that created some great results for NZL in the Livamol NZ section of the FEI World Dressage Challenge.
Provisionally NZL are leading the team competition on 239.840 from Kyrgyzstan 239.526 and Australia 239.132. This result still requires FEI validation. 31 countries have competed in the Challenge to date. Well done team NZL. Lauren Haig (IntI - 1st), Melissa Galloway (PSG - 1st), Nicola Maley(PSG - 2nd) and Millie Thompson (Youth - 1st). The Int I and PSG scores carry a team score coefficient of 1.2 and the Youth class 1.1.
The selectors were also on top form selecting three winners and a second placegetter for the team from 42 starters.
There were some great individual performances also in both the Zilco Senior I (Diane Wallace & KP Dexter) and the Hatton & Lilly Senior II (Karolyn Norton & Larapinta Primadonna)
The Fetterman Trophy for the winner of the Prix St Georges was awarded to Melissa Galloway and Windermere J'Obei W.
Winner of the Stable Art by Belinda best presented prize for the horse inspection was Nicola Maley. Best Presented Youth was Charlotte Thomas
But behind the scenes, the support crew of Chef d'Equipe Christine Lovelady, the amazing admin team led by Mel Bruce, the stewards team led by Rachel McCallum and Steve Irwin, Kerrin Beatson from naming rights sponsors Livamol, class sponsors Zilco, Syncroflex, Hatton & Lilly and Exclusively Yours, Steve Irwin the NEC caretaker who went the extra mile for us, all need to be congratulated for contributing to perhaps the most successful ever WDC hosted in Christchurch.
