The Secondary Schools Interschools Championships are an opportunity for our younger riders to try something new, and is set out so riders can take part in different disciplines as well as supporting their teammates.
NZSSSC Interschools Teams Championships 2024
Save the date for the 2024 Secondary Schools Interschools Championships 2-5 September! This is the third year the event is being held concurrently at the Dunstan Fiber Fresh NEC, McLeans Island and the Fiber Fresh NEC, Taupō. Last year, we had record numbers entering, with 500 students from 110 intermediate and secondary schools have completed the four-day tournament, with 70 schools from the North Island spanned from Kaitaia in the north to Kapiti in the south, and there were 40 schools in the South Island from Nelson to Queenstown.
This unique, multi-discipline event is being held by Equestrian Sports New Zealand, the New Zealand Secondary School Sports Council (NZSSSC) and the New Zealand Pony Clubs Association. The champs are an opportunity for our school-aged riders to try something new, and the timetable is set out so riders can take part in different disciplines as well as supporting their teammates. This unique, secondary schools, multi discipline event offers riders the opportunity to take part in Competitive Trail Riding (CTR), Jumping/Show Hunter, Dressage and Arena eventing.
