Got your quizzing caps on? New Zealand Pony Club is hosting a Quiz Night on Tuesday 3 September, co-sponsored in the North Island by Taupo Equestrian Supplies, and Dunstan Horsefeeds who are also generously sponsoring the South Island Quiz Night too. We are very grateful for their support of our young equestrians!
This unique, multi-discipline event is being held by Equestrian Sports New Zealand, the New Zealand Pony Clubs Association and the New Zealand Secondary School Sports Council (NZSSSC). It is the third year the event is being held concurrently at the Fiber Fresh National Equestrian Centre, Taupō and the Dunstan Horsefeeds National Equestrian Centre, McLeans Island, Christchurch.
The Champs are an opportunity for our school-aged riders to try something new, and the timetable is set out so riders can take part in different disciplines as well as supporting their teammates. The event offers riders the opportunity to take part in Competitive Trail Riding (CTR), Jumping/Show Hunter, Dressage and Arena eventing. Last year, we had record numbers entering, and this year numbers have grown by another 30-41% across both venues as many more students from intermediate and secondary schools across the motu compete in the four-day tournament.
