We reckon it takes about 8-10,000 volunteers to keep our equestrian community on its feet. And it can be a win-win equation. Doing good can make you feel better. Here’s how:
Connection: Connect with other members of the equestrian community, and make a real difference to people and organisations who need support. You’ll meet other volunteers who may share the same interests as you, so it’s a great opportunity to network.
Learn Something New: Learn something new, and better still, learn something new about yourself! Leap in and give it a go, you don’t need to be an expert! There are plenty of roles that just require a good dose of common sense.
Personal wellbeing: Feel better in mind and body as it can help counteract the effects of stress and anxiety, increase your self-confidence and reduce depression. The more you do it, the better you feel!
Having fun: You never know, you may find something that you never thought you’d enjoy! Explore your interests and follow your passions. You can contribute to improving the lives of riders, equines and the activities and environment they inhabit.
How to get started: If you want to give volunteering a crack, you don’t need a horse to do it. Make a list of your areas of interest – we have some resource sheets in this section of the website. So take that first step, get in touch and let the fun begin:
