Back in 2019, ESNZ Jumping launched a new grass roots project – the Star Spotters Scholarship, giving each of the twenty areas around NZ the opportunity to select one young person (under 25) to win:

1 Year of ESNZ Rider Membership

1 Year of Equine Membership

1 Year of Jumping/Show Hunter Discipline Start

The objective was to open doors for aspiring riders who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to join ESNZ. The scholarship aims to support individuals who face barriers – whether financial, personal confidence or lack of access – and help them to take their first steps into the world of competitive equestrian sport.

Each Area is invited to identify a promising rider who shows potential and passion but may need a helping hand to get started.  The Area is required to mentor their selected rider, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support throughout their first year.

It’s safe to say that Star Spotters is thriving and as it enters its seventh season, it is bigger and better than ever as we have doubled the opportunity by adding the Amateur Star Spotter for the over 25’s.

Eligibility:

The rider CANNOT have previously been registered with ESNZ before.
