Trans-Tasman Young Rider Team 2020

Our 2020 New Zealand Trans Tasman Young Rider Team to compete at Larsens Show Jumping Champs (24th – 26th Jan) against Australia.

Nickname: Ollie

When did you start riding? When I was 10 at a local after school care.

What is your biggest achievement/s? Winning the Norwood Gold Cup 2019

What are your tips/tricks for riding a borrowed horse? Do your best to get to know the horse and be quick at adapting. 

An interesting fact about you? I was actually born in Australia but have kiwi parents and am a kiwi through and through

Nickname: Liv

When did you start riding? In 2010

What is your biggest achievement/s? Winning my first Premier League in early December 2019 and starting in my first World Cup

What are your tips/tricks for riding a borrowed horse? To go with the horse and keep in mind how they are ridden usually

An interesting fact about you? I played tennis before I started riding horses

When did you start riding? 6 yrs old

What is your biggest achievement/s? Achieving a clear first round in the World Cup at Egmont A&P. 

What are your tips/tricks for riding a borrowed horse? Being able to adapt your riding style to suit each horse.

When did you start riding? 3 yrs old on her first pony called Rocket

What is your biggest achievement/s? Winner of the NZ National Young Rider Title Championship in 2019 & 2020 on Lakota & Runner up NZ National Grand Prix Title 2020 to Windermere Cappucino. Winner of the NZ National Pony Grand Prix Title 2017 on Benrose Playtime and Runner up on Waitohi Belle 2017 

What are your tips/tricks for riding a borrowed horse? I always try and create a friendly bond, make friends with them and ask lots of questions about them from the owner, I also learn very quickly by feel what they like and don’t.
