Brookby Showjumping added some extra spice to their show, with the Fiber Fresh Equine, Canter for Cancer and Hyde Park Agistment Series Teams Event, put together to encourage comradery and friendship. Teams of four were randomly selected from each of the ‘Rider’ Series classes where any points they picked up in their respective classes were tallied together for their team total, along with top bragging rights, there were also some amazing prizes up for grabs thanks to the kind and generous sponsors. The winners of this fun initiative were Team Purple Reign, consisting of Michelle Wakeling, Belinda George, Yun FanLing and Kate Ormond.

Tara Gower continued her good form to put another Property Brokers Grand Prix, locally supported by Fiber Fresh and C4C, win under her belt. It was an exciting class with five combinations going into the jump off, and all five posting a double clear, and the times were tight! Tara completed the shortened course aboard her homebred Riverhills Legend in a time of 34.10, coming in just behind was Ben Weir riding Cirrius GNZ in 35.31, and Francesca Corich van der Bas rounded out the podium on Bannockburn ECPH in 36.22. Tara took home another win in the FMG Young Rider, locally supported by Conmara Estate, this time riding Quintress Ula V Z. She jumped a double clear in 38.71 to finish ahead of Yun FanLing who picked up four faults in a time of 42.08 aboard Charmed Escudo MVNZ.

The Brave Pants Company Pro Am, locally supported by Hawkins Homes, also saw a Riverhills bred horse in the top spot, this time it was Riverhills Bayliner in the capable hands of Sonia McKerchar, who jumped the sole double clear. Michelle Wakeling finished in second place on BMW Chaccolilli and Deanna Horsburgh aboard Entourage NZPH in third, after both picked up four faults in the jump off.

Both the Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider, and the Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider entertained the spectators with some fabulous jumping, and a thrilling jump off. Kirsten Worker and Lilah were the speed queens in the Amateur, locally supported by Chris Fougere Orthopaedics, finishing in the top spot with a clean slate and a fast time. Lucy Dalley on Ngahiwi Prince and Karren Bartley aboard Blackall Park Romeo also kept all the sticks up to finish in second and third place respectively.

Five headed into the Junior Rider Jump Off, locally supported by McVeagh Fleming, and it was Adison Hall who rode Waitangi Connection to victory in a time of 28.87, just ahead of young Cruze Du Plessis who stopped the clock in 29.03 for second place aboard Mosaic II. Hannah McConnell jumped to third place on Charlton Elite in 36.08.

Francesca Corich van der Bas and Jesse Linton went head to head in the NZPH Seven Year Old Breeding Series jump off, locally supported by Fiber Fresh, after both picked up four faults in the first round. Both cleared all the obstacles in the jump off, and it was Francesca in the saddle of Phantom HPNZ (Chaccon Blue x Phantom Hologram/Hattrick VDL, bred by Guy Wallace) who took out the class, finishing five seconds clear of Jesse riding Copyright MH (Cornet Obolensky x Ma Mojo Pedale/Grosvenor, bred by Matthews Hanoverians).

Christine Cornege was the outright winner of the East Coast Performance Horses Five Year Old Breeding Series, locally supported by BMW Sporthorses, aboard Dominick MH (Eurosport Diament B x SPM Roulette MH/ River Dance, bred by Angela Miller).
Lottie Bull continued her fantastic season with another win in the AMS Saddlery Pony Grand Prix, locally supported by LC Contracting Ltd,. She jumped the sole clear round on TCG Centadel to take out the class which also puts her at the top of the series leaderboard as we get down to the nitty gritty end of the season!

Tamara on Top of the South
Marlborough and Nelson closed out the season in the South Island with their Top of the South Championships. Tamara Silcock has gone from strength to strength with Edward NZPH throughout the season and they finished on a high, taking out the win in the Property Brokers Grand Prix, with a total of four faults over the two rounds.
The FMG Young Rider hosted a fast and furious jump off with the top two finishing on a clean slate. Mitchell Cowan was the fastest through the flags on My Centastage, stopping the clock in 51.51, Jessica Hore was hot on his heals, riding Beaumont Cassanova to second place in 52.04. Molly Moffatt was last to go, and gave it her best shot, and while she had the quicker time on Onessa MVNZ, one rail on the floor left them in third place.
Katharine Coleman picked up another win in The Brave Pants Company Pro Am when she jumped the only double clear on Double J Sunshine. Angela Ruddenklau also contested the jump off on Dynamic AR, where four faults saw them finish in second place. Georgia Allison and Melissa Tripe both completed the first round of the Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider on four faults, to go through to the jump off. Georgia was all clear on Sandow Jacob to take out the class, as Melissa dropped a couple of rails on The Outlaw.
It was a good day for the Wylaars family as Eva won the Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider aboard Centanna II with a double clear in 36.62, just edging out Henry Martin riding Kiwi Strike who also jumped a double clear in 37.26. Older sister Johanna took out the NZPH Seven Year Old Breeding Series in the saddle of Demietta (Daminos x Octavia Queen/ Don Quattro), with the only clear.
Two shared the prize pot in the New Zealand Warmblood Association Six Year Old Breeding Series, with both Molly Buist Brown aboard SLE Limoncello (Pennsylvania x NVME/Voltaire II, bred by Jan Hunt) and Summer Borrie riding Aerial’s Airline Alley (Chacco Silver x Maria/ Ngahiwi One Eye, bred by Warwick and Fraser Tombleson) jumping a double clear.
