At the Feilding A&P Show, Sophie Scott made a worthwhile day trip when she won the Property Brokers Grand Prix on her long term mate, Waitangi Skynet. Kelly Smith carried on her consistency at this level and picked up second place on Kings Larkin. Maurice Beatson rode Dynavyte Corysian Ego Z to third place, with the top three all going double clear.

The AMS Saddlery Pony Grand Prix also saw three double clears, and once again saw a familiar face take out the win. Daniella Jelliman won on Korokipo Kid, and came third on Tallyho Scoundrel. Sandwiched in-between was Regan Calder riding TRS Sniper for second place.
Penny Borthwick was the convincing winner of the FMG Young Rider, aboard Nikama MVNZ, she stopped the clock over eight seconds clear of second placed Charlotte Scott on Double J Wilbur. In a similar style, Lucy Fell won The Brave Pants Company Pro Am with over five seconds to spare. Riding Faratona STS, she came home in 43.31, with second placed Noni Morgan completing the course on Starlight Discovery in 48.76.
Nigel Horton won the Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider on Mandalay Cove with the only clear round, and Sophie Holland took the top spot in the Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider with the sole double clear, riding Rockburn DL. Elyza Mcdonald had a double win when she finished in first place in the 1.20m, which also gave her the win in the Main-Events Tertiary Series.
Cocofino Can’t be Beaten
Woodhill Sands hosted their Fiber Fresh GP Show on a scorching December weekend, where some fierce jumps off were seen in a fight to take home series points over some wonderful courses built by Danielle Watts, Edward Bullock and Wayne Bragg.
Tyla Hackett had a fantastic win in the Property Brokers Grand Prix, locally supported by Fiber Fresh, that saw four combinations head into the jump off. Jesse Linton completed the course in a blistering time of 38.69 riding Paula Mussen’s Déjà Vu NZPH, but a costly rail saw them take out third place behind the two double clears. Tyla galloped through the finish flags on Global PH Cocofino in 40.97, with Edward Bullock aboard Kiwi Sundance just behind in 42.32.
Adison Hall is certainly making her mark on the Young Rider scene as she scored another win in the FMG Young Rider, locally supported by the Woodhill Group. Six made it into the jump off, with four going double clear, and it was Adison riding Waitangi Connection who were the quickest, finishing in 37.21, just a fraction ahead of Jordyn Appleton on Sabine MS in 37.53.
Michelle Wakeling has been no stranger to the winners circle this season, and this weekend was no different as she topped the leaderboard of The Brave Pants Company Pro Am, locally supported by GJ Gardner Homes, on BMW Chaccolilli. Natalia Lammers picked up second place on Puro Crystallo and Glen Beal riding Soprano in third, with all going double clear.
Our friend from Hong Kong, Yun FanLing has made his presence known on the New Zealand jumping circuit, this weekend he took out the Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider, locally supported by Fiber Fresh, riding Caesar NZPH. He also picked up third place on Charmed Escudo MSNZ, with Matisse Masterson riding Jay-Z GNZ in second place, preventing him the quinella.
Shelley Ross won the Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider, locally supported by Shelley Bridgeman, and Stella O’Byrne won the AMS Saddlery Pony Grand Prix, locally supported by Fiber Fresh, riding Sparkling Secrets Untold.
Jesse Linton had a great weekend on his young horses, winning the NZPH Seven Year Old Breeding Series, locally supported by the Woodhill Group, on the Matthews Hanoverians bred Copyright MH (Cornet Obolensky x Ma Mojo Pedale/ Grosvenor), and the New Zealand Warmblood Association Six Year Old Breeding Series, locally supported by Shelley Bridgeman, on Miss Whistle (Capatino GNZ x Corland/Corland VDL, bred by Ellie and Kirk Myers).
