The call is out for the equestrian community to get in behind a new fundraising initiative that will ensure more trans-Tasman opportunity for the next wave of international riders.
An auction, featuring everything from lessons with top riders to stallion services, lamb, horse feed and more is set to become live on Monday (November 17).
It’s a team effort between ESNZ High Performance, ESNZ Jumping and the riders, and aims to encourage more competition between Australia and New Zealand.
“This will enable our talented riders to more easily travel and compete across the ditch,” says ESNZ high performance jumping manager Jaime Campbell-Ward.

The recent self-funded trip to Australia had highlighted the value of regular competition between the two nations. “We saw such great improvement from some of those riders and we want to make sure opportunities like that are more available to a wider group of riders.”
The Trans-Tasman Show Jumping Fund will be used predominantly for horse travel between the two countries.
“The fund will make these opportunities more accessible for riders who may not have the financial backing to do these trips. We want to make sure every capable rider has the opportunity to compete for New Zealand.”
