He may have only just picked up the ride on Déjà Vu NZPH, but we all know Jesse Linton is a master on a horse and they picked up a good win in the Property Brokers Grand Prix – locally supported by Shelley Bridgeman – at only their third show together. It was a competitive class, with six combinations heading into the jump off, five of which jumped a second clear. Jesse and ‘Duck’ were super speedy, and they stopped the clock in 33.90, nearly five seconds clear of second placed Sarah West riding Six Sixty SP. Laura Inkster rounded out the podium riding Salut MVNZ in a time of 41.27.

It was Matisse Masterson in the saddle of Starlight Django that rode away with the winner’s ribbon with the only double clear. Sandwiched in-between was Cruze Du Plessis riding Mosaic II who were the fastest four faults in the jump off.

Firenze on Fire
Central Hawkes Bay held their annual A&P, and it was great to see Brooke Edgecombe back in the winner’s circle. Riding Firenze du Rouet, she took out the Property Brokers Grand Prix with the only clear. Ike Baker and Zirrena finished in second place and Sofia Williams riding Royal MVNZ in third, with both accumulating four faults.

Sofia and Royal MVNZ also picked up a second place in the FMG Young Rider, with the win going to Charlotte Scott and Double J Wilbur.
Aboard Sentra, Sofie Gaddum took out The Brave Pants Company Pro Am, and John Maclennan riding Tolley won the Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider.
Hannah Roil won the Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider on Grassendale Xtreme, with Emily Oliver riding Campari and Zita Pedersen on Tribesmen’s Warrior coming in second and third place respectively.
In the AMS Saddlery Pony Grand Prix, three combinations went into the jump off, two of which jumped another clear. Lottie Bull rode CTG Centadel to another victory as she stopped the clock in 37.12, ahead Regan Calder on TRS Sniper who finished in 41.24 for second place. Tessa Moffett picked up four faults on Ricky Baker II to place third.
Wanganui A&P
In Wanganui, it was a day to remember for Hana Bognuda as she picked up her first Property Brokers Grand Prix win. Riding the sprightly Bandito NZPH, she jumped the only clear round with no jumping penalties. She did accumulate four time faults, but the class was hers when the four faulters also picked up time faults. Sophie Fourie on Incendivity HSH finished on a total of five faults, and Kelly Smith aboard Kings Larkin on six faults.
A young lady that has been constantly in the spotlight so far this season is Daniella Jelliman, and it doesn’t seem to matter which pony she is on. This time, she jumped the only clear round on Korokipo Kid to win yet another AMS Saddlery Pony Grand Prix.
Four faults was the best score of the first round in the FMG Young Rider that saw Henry Martin on Kiwi Strike and Chloe Armstrong riding Benrose Casino ECPH go head to head in the jump off. Both combinations jumped a clear round, with Henry just edging out Chloe to take the win.
Tanya Hansen was the quickest double clear in The Brave Pants Company Pro Am. Riding Ngahiwi Specter, she went through the finish flags in 43.69 with Parys Marshall riding LG Whata Balou coming in just behind in a time of 45.91. Siobhan Ryan riding Freehold had the quickest time in the jump off, but alas, one rail falling to the floor left them in third place.
Charlotte Miles on Gothenburg produced the only double clear to win the Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider, as did Lauren Hamblyn on Lumos in the Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider, and Paris Karl Fields riding Wicked Mr Fox in the Main-Events Tertiary Series.
Southern Canterbury A&P
Down in the South Island, Southern Canterbury had their A&P Show. Riding Dynavyte Caribou DL, Molly Smith jumped the sole double clear in the FMG Young Rider for the win. Summer Borrie and Pure Cascade were the only other combination to make it into the jump off, they finished in second place.
Sonia McKerchar also pulled off the only double clear in The Brave Pants Company Pro Am, to take the win on Riverhills Bayliner. Hayley Curd riding My Miranda were the fastest four faults to finish in second place, and Maddison Thompson on My Alfie rounded out the top three.
Two combinations headed into the Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider jump off, and when both picked up four faults, it all came down to time. In the end, it was a convincing win for Milly Robinson riding DSE Spannakiwa. She stopped the clock in 46.45, with second place going to Kate Perry on Chronos QSH in 54.33.
Grace Roy had a good day out; she won the Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider on Cancion HSH as well as the AMS Saddlery Pony Grand Prix on Buzzie Bees Max.
