Equestrian Sports New Zealand is pleased to announce that Toni McIntosh has been appointed Operations Manager at the Fiber Fresh NEC Taupō. CEO Julian Bowden says he is excited about the appointment of Toni, whose capabilities are strongly suited to the role.
“This role requires a blend of strong leadership skills, event delivery, equine knowledge, and facility management experience, which Toni has demonstrated throughout her career. She was appointed the centre’s convenor two years ago, and we are delighted she is now taking up this new role,” he says.
A former Grand Prix and World Cup showjumper, Toni is based in Taupō and currently owns an equestrian events company that operates a number of showjumping events. Together with her husband Colin, they also coach showjumping in Auckland, at several locations across the Central North Island, and in Christchurch.
Prior to returning to New Zealand during the COVID-19 pandemic, Toni spent 20 years in America running a hunter, jumper business on the West Coast and in Canada. Along with her husband Colin, she also alternated her year between Hawaii, California and New Zealand, for six months at a time.
