Woodhill hosted their final spring show that saw good weather and good jumping.
The Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider- locally supported by GJ Gardner Homes – saw four combinations contest the jump off, and it was a solid win for Tonicblue in the hands of Grace Thompson, who may not have had the fastest time of the day, but they were the only ones to jump double clear. Both Samantha Maguire on Starlight Rayna and Alexia Searchfield riding Warpaint Pandora were fast, but one rail falling apiece left them in second and third place respectively.

He was on top of the leaderboard at the last show, and he backed it up again this week, Matt Taylor and Starlight Dalaman are certainly in flying form in the FMG Young Rider – locally supported by GJ Gardner Homes. It was a fight to the top, with Jordyn Appleton aboard Sabine MS coming in less than a second behind for second place.

Another rider proving to be in unstoppable form is Maddison Greatorex as she goes back-to-back-to-back in The Brave Pants Company Pro Am – locally supported by Shelley Bridgeman. Once again in the saddle of Ronaldo GS, she jumped the only clear, with Josh Bremner on LT Holst Francis finishing in second on four faults.

The Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider – locally supported by Veterinary Associates Equine- saw two riders fight for the red ribbon, but in the end it was Nicole Collier on Cassidina that stopped the clock the fastest, with Caitlin Wilkin riding Weiti Pogo not far behind for second place.

In the Woodhill Sands series, the Fiber Fresh Horse Super Series was won by Georgia Lawrie on Coco Belle in a thrilling jump off, with Tyla Hackett and Global PH Cocofino just a touch slower for second place. The Shelley Bridgeman Pony GP Super Series was won by Selena Woolsey on My Tirohanga Delight.

As always, the Woodhill team would like to say “a huge thank you to all our show officials, judges, riders, volunteers, and staff who make these events happen. Up next is the Fiber Fresh Feeds Grand Prix Show Jumping show on 4-5 October. Entries are open on Evo Events.”
Quinella for Jelliman
Feilding kicked off the weekends competition in fine style that saw some fantastic competition in the Series classes.
The first AMS Saddlery Pony Grand Prix of the season couldn’t have gone any better for Daniella Jelliman. She took out the quinella, with Tallyho Scoundrel out in front in a jump off time of 50.27, ahead of Korokipo Kid in 57.23. In what seems to be a theme of the show, Molly Presling and CS Millificent’s time of 47.55 was good enough for the win, but four faults relegated them to third place.

Sofia Williams carried on her good form from last season, aboard Grassendale Enzo she jumped the only clear in the FMG Young Rider to take home maximum points for the series. The Brave Pants Company Pro Am saw a bit more of a fight to take home top honours. Four combinations headed into the jump off, and first to go was Nicholas O’Leary in the saddle of Two Eye See. They left nothing out there and flew round the shortened track in 38.49, the fastest time of the class, but sadly one rail was dislodged from its cups to see them finish in third place. In a similar style, Lucy Fell and Faratona STS were also super speedy, but four faults saw them take home fourth place. Tanya Hansen riding Ngahiwi Specter opted for a steadier clear that paid off as they posted the first double clear of the class. Last to go was Samantha Megchelse aboard Rata Mill Eclipse whose slick round saw them pip Tanya to the post by three seconds to take out the class.
The Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider saw just two complete the second round, after a couple of course errors. Tylah Amrein was first to go, and jumped a steady clear on the lovely young horse, Double J Phyliss. Louise Mulholland with Whistlers Blaze of Glory contended the course last, and were the clear winners, stopping the timers with eight seconds to spare.
The Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider saw just two tackle the jump off, with both jumping double clear. Emily Oliver and Campari were the quickest in 42.95, with Isla Bowley on Balboa NZPH coming home in 49.55. Unfortunately, Emily nominated her other horse, so it was Isla that scored the maximum points for the series.
