Our kiwi Jumpers and Eventers have had successful competition results over the weekend.
World Cup showjumping finalist Luke Dee and Gangster W have had a solid fourth placing in the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix at Sentower Park in Belgium.
Fifty combinations started the class with 10 coming back for the jump-off where the top six were all double clear. Sanne Thijseen (NED) and Cupcake Z took the win in 34.17 seconds with Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) aboard Katoulon second in 35.41, Emanuele Camilli (ITA) on Chacco’s Girlstar third in 35.9 and Luke fourth in 36.2.

Across the Atlantic, Sharn Wordley has been finding form. Sharn and Brin D’or De Haute Melen Z were seventh in the 42-strong $130,000 CSI3* 1.5m Grand Prix which was won by Luis Pedro Biraben (ISR) aboard Vasco 109 with a double clear in 39.94 seconds. Sharn crossed the flags all clear in 42.94. Sharn also placed second and third with Mick Jagger and Valentine Car respectively in the $50,000 1.45m Grand Prix and third in the $32,000 CSI3* 1.45m speed aboard Champion League.

In the Eventing world Tim Price and Vitali have finished runners-up in the British Open Championship at the NAF Hartpury International and the British Championships in the UK. The class was won by Katie Magee aboard Treworra on their dressage score of 29.7. Tim and Vitali added just cross country time penalties to their tally for a final score of 30.9 with David Doel and Galileo Nieuwmoed third on 32.7.
Samantha Lissington and Lord Seekonig also added cross country time for their 37.3 penalty point effort for fifth. Jesse Campbell and Cooley Lafitte were eighth on 43.7, Jonelle Price aboard Grappa Nera were 11th on 49.2, Samantha and Billy Alberto were 14th on 72.8 and Jonelle with Chilli’s Midnight Star 15th. Samantha teamed up with Lucas Stone for 10th place in the British Intermediate Championship which was also won by Katie Magee, this time aboard Cushlas Indigo.
Clarke Johnstone placed sixth and seventh in the CCI4*-S with Sparky Lad and Rocket Man respectively. The 63-strong class was won by Ros Canter (GBR) aboard Lordships Graffalo on 22.8 with Bubby Upton (GBR) aboard Cola III second on 28.2 and Selina Milnes (GBR) on Cooley Snapchat third on 30.4. Sparky Lad finished on 31.7 and Rocket Man on 32.1. Jesse and Speedwell rounded out the top 10 on 35.9.
Tim teamed up with Gloire de Marchenval for second place in the CCI3*-L on 29.4 which was won by Alex Hua Tian (CHN) aboard Manjushri on 28.9. Jonelle and Faerie Good Golly were fifth on 35.2.
