Henning began judging in 1998 and became a 5*FEI  judge in 2017. He has judged at European Championships, World Cup finals and recently at the Olympic Games in Paris. He is on the Board of the German Judges Association and is responsible for Dressage.
A Grand Prix rider, he made his debut at just 19 years old, riding a horse named “Leon,” who he trained himself. The pair achieved significant success, with Lehrmann winning multiple Grand Prix titles and earning frequent placements in international competitions, including the prestigious World Cup. He has also judged several  times at European Championships, FEI World Cup finals and the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
He is passionate about training of both young riders and horses and is proud of the success of his daughter, who is currently a member of the German national equestrian squad. At just 21 years old, she has already won Grand Prix titles, continuing the family tradition of excellence in dressage.
When Henning he is not judging dressage he is a keen scuba diver !
