The sunny Hawkes Bay provided great grounds and a stunning backdrop for the Young Horse Jumping Championships this weekend.
The Championship comprises three one round competitions on consecutive days, without a jump-off. The total penalties incurred in each of these competitions count towards the final result. Horses with equal penalties over the competitions, jump-off against the clock. Other horses are placed according to their penalties in the first three rounds. Exciting jump-offs were seen in the five- and six-year-old finals where several horses had completed 3 clear rounds over the 3 days of competition.
Show Hunters were judged by two judges, with scores added together.
