Stratford A&P 29 Nov-1 Dec

The Stratford A&P was held on Friday 29th November in pleasant weather.  Course Designer, Judge and Convener Holli Marshall reported the biggest Show Hunter entries she has seen in Stratford.

Stratford has a great crew of volunteers who work hard to ensure the show comes together to create a welcoming environment for new and experienced riders and supporters, namely David, Glenda and Aimee Schumacher as the main drivers behind the Show Hunter ring. The ring provided great footing with some nice fill in the jumps. Maree Collins and Sheree Esplin also worked hard as ring crew, photographers and presenters.  Many thanks to all of these and others who gave generously of their time to put on this show.

Holli was very pleased with the standard of horsemanship in the classes, commenting ” the quality of equine and rider presentation was excellent”.

The first three classes in each section were awarded champion sashes which were sponsored locally by Landscape Essentials.

South Canterbury North Otago Championship Area Championships 30 Nov-1 Dec at Waimate Showgrounds

The dedicated SCNO committee put a lovely show over two days.

Show Hunter delegate, ring convenor, course designer and rider, Lewis McLellan, could be very proud of the courses he presented.

The Equitation courses in particular were challenging, and a good test of schooling and rider ability.  Georgia Allison gave a master class in Equitation riding, producing a beautiful winning round on Carabawn Comet with a score of 82.

Canterbury Judge Katrina Studholme said the standard of ponies and their riders was very good and that there was good competition in the pony divisions.

The hack ring had some lovely young horses on show which bodes well for the future.
