Auckland Show Hunter
The great weather and grounds for the Barfoot & Thompson AUCKLAND SHOW HUNTER GROUP Summer Show held at Pukekohe A&P show grounds, added to some hot competition over the weekend. Run by a small but elite committee, who were grateful for experienced judges Marilyn Vincent and Robin Potter, the overall feedback for the weekend was a positive one commending a relaxed and well-run show.
In the Hack ring, Emily Twort and her team of Cameo KSNZ and Camaro KSNZ had a blinder of a weekend, winning both of the ESNZ Show Hunter Amateur High Points, the Seahorse Supplements Adult Equitations and one of the NRM Open High Points. Lauren Mitchell and Craighaven Black Heart also did well, winning both of the Auckland & Waitemata SH Groups Junior Equitations, an EquiMatch Junior High Points class and one of the NRM High Points. Vanna Johnston and Brentwood Bravo prevented Lauren from having a clean sweep by winning the other EquiMatch Junior High Points class.
The pony ring produced excellent riding and jumping at all three levels. Not only did regular Cat C Show Hunter stars Camryn Young and the super pony stallion Starlight Ivanhoe take out the Big On Writing Equitation Series class and the Canter for Cancer Pony Hunter Classic, but new-comers Cruze Du Plessis with his young pony Mosaic Rapidash successfully transitioned from the Showjumping ring to take out the Barfoot & Thompson Cat A Classic and Vero Insurance High Points classes.
Another couple of stand-outs were Savanna Styles on her new pony Oki Pop to win the PGG Wrightson Cat B Classic and Grains and Gains High Points classes, and Amber and sister Skyla Bellingham riding well to win the BOP & Waikato SH Groups Equitation Series 12yrs & under and Vero Insurance Cat A High Points respectively.
Congratulations to all the winners and huge thanks to all sponsors involved!

In the Show Hunter arena, judges Lucy Maley and Katrina Studholme really had their work cut out for them as many starry combinations tackled the Georgia Clark designed courses.
Scarlett Baker and El Alpa G Wizz had a great opening day by winning both the Grains & Gains Cat B High Points and the Big on Writing Pony Equitation. Ava Allsopp Hill and Eyredale Enchanted Radiance were the winners here on the second day, where Paige Noble Wakelin and Westfield Pluto won the equitation.
Annie Scott and Little Mindy Lou and Rosa Carter on Ataahua Rapture were victorious in the Vero Insurance Cat A High Points over the weekend, as were Zara Hazeldine and Redcliffs Bill and Casey Gubb on Golden Riverdale in the Brave Pants Company Cat C High Points.
Annie Baird and Golden Eve had a great weekend, winning both EquiMatch Junior High Points classes. Melissa Tripe and The Outlaw rode off with the winners ribbon on Saturdays NRM Open High Points, but everyone must bow down to Melanie Morris and Kosciouszko who had a weekend of dreams. Not only did they claim victory in both of the ESNZ Adult High Points, but they also won the NRM Open High Points on Sunday.
