Uma O’Neill and Melody Matheson have been flying the New Zealand flag high at international events at the weekend.

Uma teamed up with Luigi d’Eclipse to place fourth in the $100,000 in the National Sunshine Series at Desert International Horse Park in California. Just nine of the starting 43 combinations came back for the jump-off where Uma was double clear in 40.308 seconds. The class was won by Charlie Jones (GBR) aboard Capitale 6 in 38.337. The top five were all double clear.

Earlier in the show Uma and Luigi d’Eclipse were sixth in the $30,000 1.45m and 1.40m classes. She also placed fourth on Messi 10 in the 1.4m open jumper.

Melody Matheson and Kentucky Balia NL hit some good form at the Indoor Friesland CSI3* in Leewarden in The Netherlands. The Kiwi combo were 10th in the CSI3* SLTN 1.55m grand prix with four faults in the opening round of the 47-strong class which was won by Willem Greve (NED) aboard Highway Tn NOP.

Earlier in the show the two were sixth in the 1.50m table A grand prix qualifier coming home clear in 67.62 seconds, and 10th in the CSI3* 1.45m table A.
