Samantha Lissington and Mr Cookie Time have placed third in the YH-CCI3*-L for seven-year-olds  at the FEI WBFSH Eventing World Breeding Championships in France.

The Kiwi combo scored 26.7 penalty points in their dressage, added just 3.2 time in the cross country and were hoof perfect in the showjumping for a final tally of 29.9.

“I am just over the moon with both of my horses,” said Samantha. “It was a special feeling being up on that podium today and it’s something I hope to repeat in the future.

We love Le lion and it’s a fantastic finish to the year for these horses – now on to Pau for our season finale.”

Mr Cookie Time had his first international outing with Samantha at Millstreet last year where he won the YH-CCI2*-S, backing that up with another win at the same event, this time in the CCI2*-L this year.

The class was won by Gemma Stevens (GBR) aboard Chilli Morning IV on 26.2 with Kitty King (GBR) on Katango in second on 27.9.

Fifty-four of the original 64 starters completed the event. Time penalties in the cross country proved crucial for many combinations.

In the YH-CCI2*-L for six-year-olds Jonelle Price and Faerie Good Golly continued their march up the leaderboard to finish in sixth place. Their 34.1 dressage effort saw them in 25th and they added nothing to that in either the cross country or the showjumping to move to 10th and then sixth.

Jonelle and Good Golly have only had a single international outing before their start at Mondial.

Samantha Lissington and Never Know MB placed 11th after working their way up from 34th in the dressage with their 36.4 effort, adding nothing in the cross country then four in the showjumping for 40.4 at the end of the day.

Merel Blom Hulsman (NED) and Killer Queen finished as she started at the front on their dressage score of 25.1, with Max Warburton (GBR) aboard Norway van de Haar second on 28.8 and Anna Freskgard (SWE) on Clawfinger third on 31.6.

Thirty-six of the 45 starters completed the three tests.
