Sue Landis is saving money in her Toyota towing vehicle.

Christchurch-based Endurance rider Sue Landis put her ESNZ Membership Benefits to the test and came out smiling when she discovered she had saved over $800 in the past year.  So, we asked her to share the maths with us.

Sue focused on the discounts she could get from Carter’s Tyre Service, her RD Petroleum fuel card and Petcover.

Earlier this year, she bought a set of four new Falken tyres for her towing vehicle, a Toyota Highlander, and after a 25% ESNZ Member discount she saved $436.

“That’s a significant saving. Fantastic!” she says.

Next, she looked at her RD Petroleum fuel card.  Her family has two vehicles, the Toyota Highlander and a Toyota Corolla town roundabout.

“We worked out over nine months between January and September this year, that we’ve saved $355.33. That’s huge! So we’re already up like around well over $700 now.”

Finally, she signed up for horse insurance with Petcover to get a 10% discount for her 14-year-old horse Saffron, and found she saved $39.72.

“That is a saving that obviously increases depending on how many animals you insure.  And the good thing is that Saffron can be covered by Petcover until she’s 30 which is a big plus.”

“So that’s total savings I’ve made this year of $831.05. Isn’t that great?”

Sue says she was delighted to find what additional value she was getting from her membership at ESNZ.

“I was already getting a lot of value from having a membership, and it’s adding value to my life as well as to me as an equestrian. So I was delighted to see that I was actually making money off being an ESNZ member! I think that it’s also an investment you’re making in terms of your commitment to the organisation and your sport and that’s important too,” says Sue.

“It also helps within the family, like my husband who is not an equestrian and gets very excited about those savings.”  See our Member Benefits pages at https://www.nzequestrian.org.nz/esnz/member-benefits/
