Equestrian Sports New Zealand and our wider community are grateful for the remarkable support that we continue to get for the Cyclone Gabrielle Equine Relief Fund.

We have continued to receive donations from wonderful people and organisations both here and overseas. 

Overarching principle for this fund is to support equine welfare as a result of Cyclone Gabrielle in the affected areas of Hawkes Bay & Gisborne.

The total donations to the fund now stand at $206,169.34

We are committed to transparency. Here is a full outline of allocations from the relief fund:

Vet Services Hawke’s Bay – $22,500

Vets One Hastings – $22,500

Vets First Havelock North – $22,500

Massey Vets – $7,500

Pony Club Branches – $10,000 (to be divided by 5)

Fiber Fresh Feeds – $5,000

Dunstan Feeds – $5,000

Truly Treasured Pet Loss Services – $5,000

Hay for Gisborne Region – $5,000 (to be allocated as required)

Petrol for hay delivery – $2,000

Pinehollow Riding School -$2,000

Equine America Vouchers – $1,000

Fuel for hay delivery – $3,444.25

Transportation of hay to Hawkes Bay – $5,000

Total monetary donations = $107,444 NZD

We are now moving into a new phase of support, and we will launch next week a “Gabrielle Support Application Process” for members who have been adversely affected to apply for direct support for their equine welfare needs with a focus on, Feed, Vet bills, Medical supplies, Farrier bills & Fencing.
