Ashburton - Lily Jessep
Lily Jessep and Crickets Desire – Ashburton
Lily is 14 years old and goes to Ashburton College. She also attends Tinwald Pony Club where she’s been a member for about a year and has her D+ Certificate.
Lily and “Cricket” have been a duo for around 7 months although Lily has been riding for 5 years.
They have competed in show jumping and done some dressage.
Their goals for the season are to comfortably compete at 80cm.
Ashburton - Lucy Bennett
Lucy Bennett and Ticketty Boo Willow – Ashburton
Lucy is 12 years old and goes to Ashburton Intermediate School. She has been a member of Tinwald Pony Club for the last 5 years and has her D+ Certificate.
Lucy and “Willow” have been together for 3 years and they have been to lots of training jumping and pony club days.
Their goal for the season is to get out and be competitive in the Show Hunter ring.
Auckland - Alisa Hernandez
Alisa Hernandez and Alma Azul – Auckland
Alisa is 12 years old and has been riding for 3 years and has had “Ash” for 1 year.
She has been jumping up to 80cm and her goal is to be jumping 1m by the end of the season.
Bay of Plenty - Genevieve Naude
Genevieve Naude & Spotless Appy – Bay of Plenty
Genevieve is 13 years old and attends Whakatane Intermediate. She has been riding for approximately 6 years and has gone to Eastern BOP Pony Club for the last 12 months and has gained her D+ certificate.
Genevieve’s partner is App (Spotless Appy) who is currently jumping around 80-95cm. They haven’t done any proper show jumping shows yet but have done a few gymkhanas and practice days.
Genevieve’s goal for the season is to sell App and find a pony that can take her from 80cm to 1m plus.

Canterbury - Brooke Watkins
Brooke Watkins and The Vodoo Warrior – Canterbury
Brooke is 14 years old and has been riding for 6 years. She’s had “Elvis” since she bought him in 2021.
Brooke has competed in various disciplines including eventing, show jumping, show hunter and showing but not at an ESNZ show yet.
Her goals for the season are to start off at 70-80cm intro classes and consistently move up through the heights.
Central Districts - Izzy Wilkin
Izzy Wilkin & Brahan Delta – Central Districts
12 year old Izzy has been riding for about 4 1/2 years and goes to Palmerston North Pony Club where she’s been riding Delta for the last 2 years and has gained her D+ certificate.
This is the first season where Izzy has focused on jumping. Her goal for the season is to place in an 80cm class, give Round the Ring a go, go in lots more shows, get her C Certificate and most importantly of all, HAVE FUN!!!!

Central & Southern Hawke's Bay - Ruby McKenzie
Ruby McKenzie and Celtic Cadence – C&SHB
Fourteen year old Ruby goes to Solway College in Masterton and currently attends Dannevirke & Districts Pony Club. They’ve been going there for 10 years and hold a D Certificate.
Ruby has been riding for 12 years but has only had “Milly” for the last 12 months. They have competed at Central Hawke’s Bay A&P, Waipukurau Sports, Dannevirke A&P, Central Hawke’s Bay Jumping show and Wairoa A&P show.
Their goals for the season are to compete at 80cm in both Show Hunter and Jumping.

Gisborne - Axelrose Campbell
Axelrose Campbell and Irie Queen – Gisborne
Thirteen year old Axelrose attends Kaiti School in Gisborne and has been riding for nearly 3 years. Her and “Missy” have been together for nearly two years.
Missy was a young horse when Axelrose first started on her and they attended local shows and did practice rounds at some of the bigger shows. The last show they went to was the day before Cyclone Gabriele hit and that was an intro class at 70cm.
Their goals for the season are to try and get some placings and have some more clear rounds. They would like to gain some more confidence and have a lot of fun. Mastering the 70 and 80cm classes would also be a major tick off the list.

Northern Hawke's Bay - Stashia Lee Dudding-Maxted
Stashia Lee Dudding-Maxted and B&W Double Shot Latte – Northern Hawke’s Bay
Stashia Lee is 11 years old and has been riding since she was 2. Latte has been her partner for the last 5 years.
They have competed together in Pinto and Saddle Hunter classes. They have also done some jumping at practice days and competed in Pony Scurries.
Their goal for this season is to qualify for Horse of the Year in Show Hunter and Pinto Classes.

Otago - Olivia McDonald
Olivia McDonald and Mustang Winterberry – Otago
Oliva is thirteen years old and started riding when she was just two years old. “Holly” and Olivia formed their partnership around 18 months ago.
Olivia attends college in Dunedin and goes to Clyde Pony Club, where they’ve been for 5 years. She is working towards her C+ Certificate.
They have done some eventing at 80cm and are looking to step up to 95cm this season. They have Show Jumped up to 80cm and have attended the South Island Secondary Schools competition where they were the third placed overall rider in the Year 9-10 section and was in the 3rd placed overall team.
Their goals are to complete their C+ Cert at pony club and compete in Jumping up to 1m. They would also love to give Show Hunter a try.

South Canterbury/North Otago - MacKenzie Paul
MacKenzie Paul & Magieen Last Touch – SCNO
MacKenzie is 13 years old, goes to Craighead School and has attended Waimate Pony Club for the last 3 years. She’s been riding Hunny for the last 2 years and has her D+ certificate.
MacKenzie has attended some local shows doing jumping and show hunter up to 85cm.
Their goals for the season are to do some HOYQ Show Hunter classes and show jump up to 95cm.

Southland - Emily Forbes
Emily Forbes & My Dream World – Southland
Emily is 15 years old and goes to James Hargest College in Invercargill. She is in her first season at Invercargill Kennington Pony Club.
Curly is quite new to the family and she’s only had him since January this year. They haven’t had a lot of mileage yet but have been learning a lot together the last few months.
They have completed one ODE in September at 65cm. Their goals for this season are to increase their confidence and ability and produce some clean jumping rounds. Emily hopes to be competently jumping 1m by the end of the season.

Taranaki - Ruby Gargan
Ruby Gargan & Onetai Black Diamond – Taranaki
Ruby is 13 years old and has been riding since she was 7. She’s been lucky enough to have her own ponies for the last 4 years. She’s only had Gypsy for the last 4 1/2 months.
They attend Oakura Pony Club together and are going to sit their D+ later this year.
Ruby has competed in pony club events, local ODEs, show hunter shows and some jumping at local A&P shows.
Their goals for the season are to compete at the Pony Club Show Hunter Champs in Foxton and then start show jumping Gypsy at 80cm – aiming for 90cm if things go well. She would also love to do some eventing and are looking to improve her flatwork.

Waikato - Adelaide Hawthorn
Adelaide Hawthorn and Rune Hollow Kahlua Cream – Waikato
Adelaide is ten years old and attends Tamahere Model Country School and has just started at Tamahere Pony Club this season.
Adelaide and her pony Karly have been a partnership for around 3 years as she got him for her 7th birthday, but she has been riding since she was two years old.
They have had a very successful time together in the jumping and show hunter ring, with some of the highlights being competing at Takapoto in the Rising Stars 60cm class with wonderful Tegan Fitzsimon as their mentor.
They’ve also competed at Diamond Lodge, Kihikihi and Waikato Equestrian Centre with many placings up to 70cm in jumping and SH.
Their goal for this season is to have a great time at Tamahere Pony Club with their friends. They would also love to do lots more competing in jumping up to 80cm and also in the Category A ponies in Show Hunter.
We’re sure Adelaide and Karly will have lots more success in the future and we look forward to seeing some more photos!!!
Wairarapa - Elise Polley
Elise Polley & Massimo – Wairarapa
Elise hails from Masterton and attends Solway College and is 12 years old. She’s been riding for 4 years but has just had Max for a year.
Elise has attended some interschools competitions, twilight jumping series and the Solway College interschools dressage competition. They’ve also been to Claireville Gymkhana.
Their goals for this season are to go up the heights in Show Jumping and feel confident in riding 1m and to give Show Hunter a go.

Waitemata - Molly Buckingham
Molly Buckingham and Bullwinkle – Waitemata
Twelve year old Molly has been riding for nearly 2 years and goes to Swanson Primary School. She has attended Waimauku Pony club for one season, where she’s gained her D+ Certificate.
Molly and Winkle have competed over Winter at the Woodhill Sands training events and won the 12 years and under Winter Show Hunter series.
Their goals for the season are to compete in Show Hunter and Jumping. They would love to get confident enough to compete at 80cm and also give a 65cm ODE a go.
