ESNZ Eventing together with Eventing High Performance are pleased to announce the selection process for Oceania 2022 is complete with the naming of the young rider team.

 

The Young Rider Team for 2022 comprises current members of the Eventing Talent ID Squad, Charlotte Penny (Taupo) with either of her two horses, Festival or SD Amourosi, Brittany Fowler (Matangi) riding Game Keeper, Greer Caddigan (Hamilton) and Ricker Ridge Pico Boo and joining them is Charlotte Edwards (Wellington) riding Just de Manzana.

 

The three reserve combinations in order are Lucy Turner (Christchurch) riding Astek Victor U25, Mackenzie Marlo (Auckland) riding CHS Diplomat U21 and Charlotte Treneary (Kumeu) with CHS Royal Genie U21.

 

All six combinations are starting at the NZ3DE next week in Taupo as their final run on NZ soil.

 

Senior and young rider team members and reserve combinations will attend a training camp with their chefs d’Equipe Blyth Tait and Lizzie Green in late May before departing for Melbourne on 5 June.

 

The 2022 Oceania competition is being held as part of the Melbourne International Three Day event, 9th – 13th June at Werribee.

 

It has been three years since the last Oceania as the 2021 event was postponed due to the Covid pandemic.
