NZ High Performance combination Melissa Galloway and Windermere JÓbei W have made a strong start to their international campaign at Lier 3* in Belgium
The pair drew number 2 in a field of 28 and stayed in touch with the leaders until the final session when the experienced German combination Fabienne Muller- Lutkemeier and Valencia AS and Australian Lyndal Oatley on Eros both scored over 74%
Third place Lynne Maas was on 71.8% followed by another Australian, Warrick McLean on 70.6%
Melissa & Joey finished in 12th place on 68.5% just one point behind stablemates Charlotte Fry and Don Joe on 68.544%
The NZL pair looked every inch an international combination with a powerful first up performance. Melissa acknowledged that a couple of mistakes in her test resulted in a lower mark that would have been otherwise earned and is excited about what the future brings with more competition arena time
The pair start at number 9 at NZL time 6.42am tomorrow morning in the Grand Prix Special. The class starts at 5.15am
