Eventing Auckland Inc is very sad to announce that it has taken the difficult decision to cancel the March 25-27th Puhinui Three Day Event scheduled to be held at Auckland’s Puhinui Reserve.
We know how disappointing this will be, especially for riders, but we have a duty of care to keep safe our officials, volunteers, sponsors, community, and all stakeholders. This will be especially disappointing for our Young Rider and Junior riders who had hoped to compete for their postponed 2021 Three Day Event titles but everyone’s health and well-being is our primary concern.
With the peak Covid-19 Omicron infection rate anticipated in mid to late March our options were severely limited. Planning has now begun and we will be back with our Puhinui International Three Day Event in December 2022, with some new surprises!

ESNZ Eventing shares in the disappointment of the Puhinui organising committee members and all stakeholders following this decision, with Board Chair, Margaret Evans, “acknowledging that during these uncertain times it is incredibly difficult for organisers to balance the operational variables to move forward with the confidence needed to run an event of this size and supports the Puhinui OC in their decision”.
