It was two from two for showjumpers Mikayla Trott and Ashley Johnston at the Prydes EasiFeed Grand Prix Show at Woodhill Sands, with both taking back to back series classes.

Ashley (Whangarei) and Miss Vee NZPH won both the Dunstan Horsefeeds Amateur Rider Series classes – they were the only double clear of nine combinations in the first class, backing that up as the only clear in the opener in the nine-strong second series class.

The wins will do wonders to Miss Vee NZPH, a 13-year-old chestnut mare, and Ashley on a very hotly-contested series leaderboard.

Mikayla (Riverhead) and Redcliffs Armani RF reigned supreme in the Mainland Coachwork Junior Rider Series classes, heading home 12 other combinations in both. Their double clear in 43.51 seconds gave them the nod ahead of Alice Cofskey (Cambridge) on Attaboy, who came home in 44.3 in the first series class, but they were the only clear in the opener of the second to take victory.

Abby Fawcett (Ohaupo) and Hillman Hunter took the honours in the 14-strong Harrison Lane Pro-Am Rider Series class with it all going the way of Tyla Hackett (Waiuku) aboard Global PH Cocofino in the nine-strong FMG Young Rider Series class.

It was Woodhill Sand’s first show of 2022, and attracted around 200 combinations who melted in the hot conditions. Wayne Bragg designed the courses in ring one, Edward Bullock in ring two and Jane Callaghan ring three.
