Injury has forced showjumper Sharn Wordley and Verdini D’Houtveld Z to withdraw from the New Zealand team for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Uma O’Neill and Clockwise of Greenhill Z, the previous travelling reserve, now move into the team alongside Bruce Goodin aboard Backatorps Danny V and Daniel Meech aboard Cinca 3, with Tom Tarver and Popeye the new travelling reserve.

Sharn is bitterly disappointed to have to withdraw. “The timing is bad but the good news is that the horse will be fine,” he said. “The horse’s welfare always comes first. He is a young and very talented horse who has a huge career ahead of him. I wish our team the best of luck at Tokyo. I will be cheering them on.”
