Kiwi eventers competing at the FEI WBFSH Eventing World Breeding Championship for Young Horses at Mondial du Lion in France are both well in touch with the leaders at the end of the dressage.

Samantha Lissington and her homebred Ricker Ridge Ricochet are sitting in third spot in the CCIYH2*-L for six-year-olds on 29.1 penalty points after a “lovely relaxed test”, with leader Tom McEwen (GBR) aboard MHS Brown Jack on 26.6 and Ingrid Klimke (GER) with Cascamara on 27.4.

In the CCIYH3*-L for seven-year-olds Caroline Powell and Greenacres Special Cavalier are in fourth on 30.6 penalty points. Sophie Leube (GER) aboard Sweetwaters Ziethen TSF retained her lead through the second day of dressage and is on 27.6 with Nicolas Touzaint (FER) aboard Diabolo Menthe in second on 29.1 and Merel Blom (NED) aboard Crossborder Radar Love in third on 30.3.

Tonight is the Pierre Michelet (FRA) designed cross country test.
