It’s top 20 for the Kiwi eventers at the Burnham Market International Horse Trials on the completion of the dressage.

The Brits have the trifecta at the top of the 91-strong CCI4*-L which is being led by Izzy Taylor aboard Monkeying Around on 23.2 penalty points with Piggy March (nee French) in second equal on 26.2 aboard Dargun and Fonbherna Lancer, and Nicola Wilson a smidgen behind on 26.3 aboard JL Dublin.

James Avery and Mr Sneezy are the best of the Kiwis with a score of 31 in 22nd spot. Dan Jocelyn sits in 35th spot aboard Blackthorn Cruise on 32.4 and 40th with a score of 32.8 on Lissyegan Rory. Hollie Swain and Solo XII finished the dressage on 38.3.

The CCI4*-S is still being led by Izzy Taylor who held on with her record-breaking 20.3 penalty point effort from the opening day of the dressage and her clear showjumping round. Yasmin Ingham (GBR) and Banzai Du Loir and Therese Viklund (SEW) and Diabolique are in second equal on 22.3 – both have yet to do their showjumping. Oliver Townend (GBR) and Cillnabradden Evo in fourth on 23.3 having completed both their dressage and showjumping.

Samantha Lissington and Ricker Ridge Sooty GNZ are in 17th place on 28.9, with Jesse Campbell and Diachello in 38th on 35.5 and Ginny Thompson aboard Stars Align on 42.5. The three Kiwis are yet to do their showjumping test in the 93-strong class.

The short format class is now running as a single class with additional prizes for the eight and nine-year-olds. Samantha and Sooty currently sit in eighth place in the age group division.

All placings across both classes are provisional. The cross country for the long format class is this evening while the short format competitors continue with their showjumping
