New Zealand’s golden couple of eventing, Tim and Jonelle Price are on the podium together at the Cornbury House Horse Trials in the UK.
Jonelle and Killbunny Andy edged Tim aboard LVS Movistar to take the honours in an intermediate section at the inaugural event. Jonelle finished on her dressage score of 25.5 penalty points with Tim ending the day on 28.7 in the 42-strong class. Tayla Mason and Centennial were fourth on 35.2.
Samantha Lissington and Ricker Ridge Ricochet were the best of the Kiwis in the big classes, placing 10th in the CCI2*-S class which was won by William Fox-Pitt (GBR) aboard Centurian Bay. Bruce Haskell and Amiro Sky were 15th in the CCI3*-S class which went to Georgie Spence (GBR) and Uppercourt Cooley.
Jesse Campbell and Amsterdam II placed second in one of the open intermediate sections with Tim and Falco IV in third and he was also top 10 aboard Xavier Faer. Tim teamed up with Ringwood Sky Boy to win another of the open intermediate sections with Jonelle and Grovine de Reve fourth in the same class. Tim and Bango were top 10 in another open intermediate.
The inaugural Cornbury House Horse Trials attracted riders from 19 nations with the best prize-money on offer in the sport this year. The event is an incarnation of the earlier Cornbury Park Horse Trials which were held in the 19902.
