Competition is underway at the Burgham International Horse Trials and Kiwis are quickly making their mark.

James Avery and Sportsfield Lord Livesey sits in fourth (prov) place in the CCI3*-S (section J) on 32.6 penalty points with Caroline Powell aboard Rock Midnight in and James on Cooley Lord Lux tied in seventh place on 34.4. Piggy March (GBR) and Fonbherna Lancer lead the field on 28.3. Just a third of the field have completed the dressage.

Hollie Swain and Drumnaconnell Nico are the best of the New Zealand riders in the CCI3*-S (section K) class, sitting in seventh place (prov) with a score of 32.9. Oliver Townend (GBR) and MHS King Joules leads on 24.5.

Competition continues through the weekend with record entries at the first UK international of the season.
