The team at Bayer – the company behind UltraMox™ – get a real kick out of providing equine owners with what they say are the very best products and advice on worming their horses, according to brand manager Ben McFarlane.
He’s been the brand manager for four years but Bayer’s involvement with equestrian goes back much longer. “The company has been associated with the equine industry with its market-leading products for many years,” says Ben. “We’re proud to manufacture the two leading horse worming brands on the market – UltraMox and Equitak Excel – right here in New Zealand.
“We understand that managing parasites in horses can be both complicated and confusing, so we’ve created the new ‘Focus on Worm Control’ booklet. It’s being launched shortly, so keep an eye out for it. It has some great advice on the latest strategies and how to apply them on your property.”
When the opportunity arose, they didn’t hesitate to become a co-sponsor with Cheleken Equestrian of the six-year-old series. “They are a great fit with us as they are also a well-respected company with a long association with the equine industry in New Zealand,” says Ben.
Ben says getting to know the people in the world of jumping has been a great journey. “I have come to enjoy and appreciate two things since getting involved in the equine scene – the first is the people in jumping who have such passion and skill for what they do while also having a good laugh doing it,” he says. “The second thing that continues to blow me away is the ability of these horses and the amazing partnerships they form with their riders. We can see just how important the horses are to their owners and they always want to do the best by them.”
Bayer has its own band of riders, with a number throughout the company riding for both pleasure and competition. “They all have an incredible passion for their horses too,” says Ben.
