Equestrian Sports NZ has today announced that events with international attendees and officials will be reviewed and adapted to meet the requirements of New Zealand travel restrictions.

At this stage it is still deemed appropriate to hold national events without international attendees or officials, however the circumstances are changing daily and will be reviewed daily.

ESNZ Dressage has announced the Bates National Dressage Championships and Webb Equestrian Para Equestrian Championships will proceed as a National event at Taupo NEC from 25-28 March. The CDI component of the event will not be held owing to the non-availability of international judges.  All FEI classes on the schedule will now be held under ESNZ Dressage rules. The Training Forum scheduled for Sunday 29th is cancelled.

ESNZ Eventing will continue, at this point, with its Christchurch and Matamata events and will keep a watching brief on developments before making any further decision on its Taupo Nationals or its officials seminar scheduled for May.

ESNZ Jumping series finals scheduled for the first weekend in April will be reviewed in the next few days. The FEI Jumping stewards’ seminars scheduled for early April are under discussion with the FEI and an announcement will be made as soon as possible.

ESNZ Endurance is watching developments and will review its Nationals event scheduled for Easter in the next week.

Internationally based athletes are advised to restrict travel as much as possible and ensure they maintain contact with ESNZ High Performance staff for further updates and advice.

At this stage the International Olympic Committee is maintaining the Olympics will go ahead and therefore we advise athletes to continue as much as possible with their preparations.
