Lucarne Dolley and Ardmore Inspire at Equestrian Entries Dressage Youth Festival

An inspiring weekend of dressage in the Taupo summer sun was enjoyed by over 150 Young riders from as far south as Queenstown and from the Far North.

Lucarne Dolley and Ardmore (Waikato) may have been the only combination in the U25 Grand Prix but scores of 69.133% in the Freestyle and 68.205% in the Grand Prix demonstrate the high standard set the twenty-one year old rider who has trained Ardmore to this level herself with support from coach Vanessa Way. The combination were the first recipients of the new KH Arvan National Trophy presented by Wellington’s Pip Gibbons

The Waldebago Trophy for the Young Rider Championship was won by New South Wales rider Georgia Davenport on Liz Hutson’s charming and talented Hapsburgh PSH. This combination was super consistent with a win and a second in the qualifiers to take the title from the Auckland combination of Brina Carpenter and Leo Donna on a win and third. The Young Rider title is contested at FEI (International) Young Rider Level

The Pony Championship is contested at FEI Pony level which is equivalent to NZL Medium level brings with it the Hyland Trophy and was won by Waitemata’s Sam Gradowski-Smith on Heritage Don Quilla, a pony he has bought through from Preliminary.

It was hugely rewarding for the South Island team who had bought their own horses to the event to take home the  York Corporation InterIsland Challenge sponsored by Richmond Saddlery
