Congratulations to Robin Savage who is the ESNZ Volunteer of the Month for November 2019!

According to Lyn Grandi and Cherie Pearson who both nominated Robin, she is the most awesome person and hugely valuable to Dressage Canterbury. Along with being the group’s steward at every monthly day, she also stewards and helps run the Northern Equestrian Group. She is also head steward at the Ashburton Regional too!

“Robin has been a steward for as long as I remember and I recall seeing her many, many times out in pouring rain and searing heat at her post,” said Lyn.  “She is very well respected.”

“Robin leads the charge at every competition to put up usually five to seven arenas each time. Being Canterbury and windy sometimes, they blow over and like a trooper she is out there first thing standing them all up,” said Cherie.  “She is a genuinely kind-hearted person and it wouldn’t be the first time I have asked her to read my test – nothing is ever a problem for her.

“We did a paint and ride day to get our arena rails painted. So you go to have a go at a test or musical for free in return for ne hour’s painting. Here is Robin in her green overalls helping paint and of course she didn’t ride.

“We would be absolutely lost without her.”

Thank you so much Robin, for your fantastic service to dressage, for the countless hours of work you do, your generosity and commitment to the sport at all levels and helping dressage to succeed and grow.

Our sport is in good hands with Robin and our other wonderful volunteers like her who quietly go about the business of making things happen so smoothly. Next time you are so lucky to be on the receiving end of our volunteers’ generosity, please take a moment to thank them.

ESNZ Volunteer of the Month receives a gift in recognition of their contribution; Robin’s is on its way to her.
