Kiwi eventers Caroline Powell and Jesse Campbell are both handy at the end of the first day of dressage in the CCIYH2*-L for six-year-old class at FEI Eventing World Breeding Championships at Mondial du Lion in France.

Caroline and Greenacres Special Cavalier sit in sixth spot on 32.4 penalty points with Jesse and Global Candy Boy right behind on 33.4. Kai-Steffen Meier (GER) and QC Rock and Roll currently lead on 27.1.

Twenty-one of the 42-strong field have completed their dressage. Still to come for New Zealand is Caroline aboard Rock Midnight.

Tim Price and Happy Boy will be first to go in the CCIYH3*-L for seven-year-old dressage tonight. Thirty-four combinations have already gone with Josephine Schnaufer (GER) aboard Viktor 107 leading the way on 26.7 penalty points.
