From all accounts Mandy is one of those people who is the absolute lifeblood of our sport. According to Gill Chambers who nominated her, Mandy has been running the Wairoa Riding Club for many years. “Running” means organising the competitions, doing the baking AND competing.
Similarly, she has made the trek from Wairoa to Hawkes Bay to help out at the Polo Grounds at Horse of the Year, year after year. At the World Challenge in Taupō she was there again helping out and organising the barbeque.
Thank you Mandy, for your many years of service to Dressage, for the incredible amount of work you do, your generosity and commitment to the sport at all levels and the uncountable hours you spend organising events and helping others to succeed as well.
Our sport is in good hands with Mandy and our other wonderful volunteers who quietly go about the business of making things happen so smoothly. Next time you are so lucky to be on the receiving end of our volunteers’ generosity, please take a moment to thank them.
ESNZ Volunteer of the Month receives a gift in recognition of their contribution; Mandy’s is on its way to her.
Mandy’s nomination came about from ESNZ having a ‘Volunteer of the Month’ nomination box at Horse of the Year and in our Wellington office into which our members have popped their Volunteer of the Month nominations. It doesn’t end there however, you can nominate your Volunteer of the Month by emailing us at [email protected] with Volunteer of the Month in the subject line.
