Tim Price and Ascona M have had a brilliant start at the Tattersalls International Horse trials in Ireland overnight, sitting at the front of the George Mernagh Memorial CCI4*-S on a 25.9 penalty point dressage score. Sitting behind him in second is Japan’s Kazuma Tomoto and Vinci de la Vigne JRA on 29.8 penalty points and Alexander Bragg (GBR) aboard Zagreb right on his tail on 29.9.

James Avery and Aloha are now in second place in the Eventing Ireland CCI3*-L with their 23.9 penalty point dressage effort after William Fox-Pitt (GBR) and Georgisaurous slipped in front with a 20.5 penalty point score. Tim Price is also handy, sitting in sixth spot aboard Senza Fine on 26.4. Jonelle Price and Grappa Nera are in 17th on 29.2, Tim and Spartaco just behind them on 30.6 and Daniel Jocelyn aboard Duke of Champions sitting on 31.3.

Jonelle and Lime Rickey scored 32.9, James Avery and One of a King notched 34.7 and Hollie Swain aboard Solo picked up 38.3 penalty points in the 60-strong field.

Daniel Jocelyn and Blackthorn Cruise sit in fourth place on a score of 29.3 penalty points at the end of the dressage in The Irish Field CCI4*-L. Pippa Funnell (GBR) and MGH Grafton Street remain at the front of the 30-strong field on 25.4.

Tim Price is also well in touch with the leader of the Cooley Farm CCIYH2*-L class after the dressage and cross country. He and Happy Boy remain on their 30.6 dressage score for ninth spot. He is also in 18th aboard Emotion II, also still on his dressage score of 32.5. William Fox-Pitt (GBR) and Grafennacht lead the 54-strong class on 24.6.

Competition continues overnight with both cross country and showjumping across the various classes.
